This week, The Carpet Repair Guys have been working closely with a well-known fire door company on a large-scale project for Kent County Council. Under new fire safety regulations, hundreds of fire doors are being upgraded across council-owned properties — and we’ve been called in to help with the carpet repairs that follow.

Why Fire Door Replacements Lead to Carpet Repairs

When old fire doors are removed, especially in high-traffic areas like council buildings, schools, or offices, they often leave gaps in the carpet — usually where the original door bar was, or where the flooring no longer aligns.

These gaps are not just unsightly — they can become trip hazards or look unfinished in otherwise smart spaces.

That’s where we come in.

Our Role in the Project

We’re attending multiple sites across Kent, working to:

🛠️ Repair and refit carpet around new fire door installations
📐 Re-stretch or re-join carpets where necessary
🚪 Replace damaged door thresholds and tidy frayed edges
🧰 Ensure clean, safe, and smart finishes in every property

With a tight deadline, we’re moving fast but still delivering our usual high standards. This type of reactive repair work is where we thrive — getting in quickly, sorting the issue, and leaving no trace behind.

Covering All of Kent

We’ve been attending sites in:

📍 Maidstone
📍 Canterbury
📍 Ashford
📍 Medway towns
📍 Thanet
📍 Sittingbourne
📍 Dartford
📍 West Malling & beyond
